A Fireside Chat about Juvenile Justice Reform
Georgetown Law invites you to a fireside chat featuring Kristin Henning, Blume Professor of Law and Director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic and Initiative, and Halimah DeLaine Prado, L’00, General Counsel at Google. Join the Bay Area community and these esteemed thought-leaders as we explore the lived realities and policy dimensions of the juvenile justice system.
Professor Henning has dedicated her career to defending youth in the justice system and advancing systemic reforms focused on racial bias, adolescence, and legal equity. She is the author of The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth, which confronts how racial and developmental biases shape youth policing and legal outcomes.
To learn more about juvenile justice reform, watch this John Oliver segment on Last Week Tonight highlighting the challenges of the juvenile justice system. Professor Henning’s work is cited in the episode.
Welcome remarks and introductions will feature Jeff Tsai, L’00, Partner at DLA Piper, and Vineet Shahani, L’05, General Counsel at Mill.
