Sometimes the best love stories have the simplest beginnings. Alexandra and Rafic met on a law school elevator and, as they put it, “rode it all the way up.” Twenty-five years later, they’re still going strong. Today, they have two teenage sons and enjoy running and cycling together. Rafic is a partner at Baker McKenzie and a Georgetown Law adjunct professor. Alexandra is a partner at Morrison Foerster in the financial services group.

Briana Meginniss, L’16 and Keinan Meginniss, L’16

Briana and Keinan were both in Section 4 and found each other early in their first semester. By finals that first year, they were inseparable — and have been together ever since. The couple got engaged on their Bar Trip in 2016 and married in 2017. Now both in-house attorneys in New York, they live in a cozy house in Mount Vernon with their spoiled Basset Hound puppy, Butters, often watching Georgetown basketball. “Going through life together has been a wonderful ride,” Briana shared.

Diego and Magdalena are both Venezuelan, but they grew up in different cities and studied law at different universities in Caracas, never crossing paths. Everything changed when they independently chose Georgetown Law for their LL.M. degrees, becoming the only Venezuelans in the Class of 2022. A mutual friend introduced them, and their shared background far from home created an immediate bond. Four years later, they are engaged and grateful that Georgetown Law brought them together. Today, they live in Washington, D.C., where Magdalena is in-house counsel at Cogent Communications and Diego works as a compliance officer at Morgan Stanley.

Zeran came to Georgetown Law from China to pursue an LL.M. degree in General Studies, while Sworoopa traveled from Nepal to pursue hers in International Business and Economic Law. Zeran fell in love with Sworoopa the moment he saw her, but it took him all the way until the graduation gala to find the courage to ask her out. The rest, as they say, is history! The two are currently preparing for a big move and their next chapter together.

Maggie Zendehrouh, L’27 and Mihir Randive, L’27

Maggie and Mihir met in Con Law I during 1L, more officially at Professor Laura Donohue’s annual dinner party. They became best friends first and fell in love a few short months later. Now both 2Ls at Georgetown Law, they will be working at firms in New York this coming summer.
