Ruby Stamnes

At age fifteen, Ruby Stamnes was admitted to the University of Washington through the Robinson Center for Young Scholars’ Early Entrance Program. There, she developed a strong interest in the political economy of rapidly industrializing countries, particularly South Korea. At seventeen, she transferred to Korea University to pursue that interest more deeply, focusing her studies on the relationship between foreign direct investment and political and economic development.

After graduating, Ruby began her career as an intern with Deloitte Korea’s M&A Financial Advisory practice, where she supported the sale of an automotive parts manufacturer owned by a Korean private equity firm. The role gave her firsthand exposure to the cross-border transactions she had studied as an undergraduate. She then joined the corporate development team at a Seoul-based design software startup, where her work spanned sales operations, data analytics, product strategy, and investor relations. She played a key role in the company’s $21 million Series B fundraising round, working with investors in both English and Korean. Throughout her career, Ruby has especially enjoyed collaborating across cultures with colleagues, customers, and investors from diverse backgrounds.

Ruby earned TOPIK Level 6, the highest level of Korean language proficiency certification, in 2025. She also speaks conversational French. At Georgetown Law, she intends to build on her international experience to specialize in cross-border corporate transactions between the United States and South Korea.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys road cycling, skiing, running, practicing yoga, playing the drums, discovering new cafés, and listening to live jazz.
