Born in Greece, Daphne spent much of her childhood living overseas in Europe and the Middle East but considers Boston home. Daphne comes to Georgetown after three years at PartnersGlobal, an international peacebuilding organization focusing on the promotion of inclusive democratic change around the world.

At PartnersGlobal, Daphne worked closely with local activists and civil society leaders from the Middle East on topics such as organizational capacity building, rule of law, and labor rights. She spent much of her time on a project in Iraq that aimed to increase workplace protections and expand access to equitable employment for women through a newly passed labor law. She also collaborated with her colleagues to form a union in her workplace, serving as a founding member of the organizing committee, ultimately obtaining near-unanimous staff support for a union. Later elected to the negotiations committee, she led focus groups among staff to ascertain top priorities and crafted policy proposals that were ultimately adopted in a workplace collective bargaining agreement in October 2019. She then served as a Shop Steward until her departure from the organization.

Daphne graduated magna cum laude from Hamilton College with a degree in Government. At Hamilton, she authored an honors thesis analyzing changes to state-level voting laws and regulations following the partial repeal of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in the Shelby County v. Holder (2013) Supreme Court decision. As an undergraduate, Daphne completed formative internships at the National Center for Transgender Equality and National Women’s Law Center that sparked her interest in pursuing law school. She also played on the varsity softball team and led LGBTQ student activism.

At Georgetown, Daphne seeks to gain a deeper understanding of democratic systems and institutions in government and workplaces. Daphne believes that every person should have the opportunity to play a role in the decisions that impact their lives, and aims to use her law degree to advocate for this.  In her spare time, Daphne coaches a youth softball team of middle school girls at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. She also enjoys cooking Mediterranean food, baking sourdough bread, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox.
