Aubrey Reynolds
Aubrey is a first-year law student and a member of Cohort 9 in the Business Law Scholars Program. He is committed to pursuing a career in the emerging companies and venture capital (EC/VC) space, working with founders and early-stage companies as they form, fund, and scale.
On campus, he is a RISE Fellow, Student Ambassador, and a member of both Homecourt and the Corporate and Financial Law Organization.
Background
Aubrey has over a decade of experience spanning the fiscal advisement of executives, the startup ecosystem, and legal practice. His post-undergraduate career began at the Governor’s Planning and Budget Office in Georgia, where he served as an analyst, advising the state’s CFO regarding fiscal issues related to the state’s pension plans and the state’s real property portfolio. He then moved into the startup space, where he helped launch two government-service startups, co-founding one of them. While at these companies, he led contract negotiations with government funding partners to secure recurring revenue, devised and updated internal systems to facilitate increased profitability and scalability, and supported the companies in critical daily operations. He later joined a multi-state law firm, partnering with firm leadership to scale the firm’s client base. He led system-implementation and client-facing efforts that facilitated significant client-base growth. He also regularly analyzed client financial and asset records, drafting responsive agreements and other legal documents.
Aubrey attended Wake Forest University and the University of West Georgia. He holds a degree in Political Science.
This summer, Aubrey will be immersing himself in a venture capital educational program, while also supporting the business development and growth of two dynamic startups here in D.C. Next summer he will be joining Gunderson Dettmer as a summer associate in their New York office.
