Eli Jackson
Eli is a first-year law student and a member of Cohort 9 in the Business Law Scholars Program. After graduation, he is interested in practicing transactional work in BigLaw, and in the long term, perhaps moving in-house or starting his own company.
On campus, he serves as a captain of the Georgetown Law Softball Club and is a member of the Corporate and Financial Law Organization and the Georgetown International Economic Law Society.
Background
Prior to law school, Eli worked at Ion Solar, a large residential solar company located in Utah, on their Business Intelligence team. He partnered with leadership to develop data-driven strategies, built automated reporting systems, and analyzed operational and sales data to improve performance and decision-making.
He received a B.S. in Economics from Brigham Young University. During his studies, he provided volunteer economic analysis for a Utah State Representative, evaluating harm reduction proposals and drafting policy recommendations. He also held roles as a Teaching Assistant in the Economics Department, Research Assistant in the Finance Department, and Cebuano Language Instructor for the Missionary Training Center at Brigham Young University.
This summer, Eli will be a summer associate at Latham & Watkins in Austin, TX.
Beyond Law School
Eli grew up in Minnesota, but has also spent significant time living in Texas, Utah, and the Philippines. In his free time, he enjoys sports (volleyball, snowboarding, basketball, tennis, softball), photography, and hosting friends. He is fluent in Cebuano and conversational in Tagalog.
