Emma Zazueta Lachenaud
Emma Zazueta Lachenaud is a 2025 graduate and Member of Cohort 6 of the Business Law Scholars Program. She is currently an Associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in New York.
During law school, Emma was the VP of Communications for the Corporate & Financial Law Organization and was a 1L Representative for the Georgetown International Arbitration Society. She also played football on Sundays with a team of Georgetown students.
Emma graduated from the University of California Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor’s in Political Economy with a Concentration in Development Economics and Applied Economics. During undergrad, she gained leadership experience as a Vice Chair and then Head Chair of the Berkeley Model United Nations, Co-President of the Political Economy Student Association, President of the ECOSOC Committee at the London International Model United Nations, and worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Center on the Politics of Development and Institute of International Studies.
During her summers at Berkeley, she worked at the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino) in Panama City, Panama as an Intern and at Oliver Wyman in Madrid, Spain as a Core Consulting Intern.
During her 1L summer at Georgetown Law, she was a 1L Diversity Scholar at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld where she returned for her 2L summer.
Emma is originally from France and grew up in the UK and Mexico. She is fluent in Spanish, French, and English. In her free time, Emma enjoys cooking, playing football, and listening to music.
