Jakeem LambertBoots to Business Law

J. Jakeem Lambert wants to help Black and Brown-owned small businesses start and grow. “When I look around my community, I see so many great businesses that are on the brink of failure due to a lack of legal support and structure. Then there are the countless would-be businesses that don’t know where to begin. I want to serve as the bridge that allows these businesses to realize their full potential.”

As a future deal lawyer, Jakeem hopes to handle the complex transactional legal needs of Black and Brown small business owners, freeing those companies to focus on their day-to-day operations and continued growth.

Additionally, Jakeem would like to work with privately held and publicly traded companies focusing on strategic and financial M&A, antitrust issues, and contract negotiation and drafting.

An evening student at Georgetown Law, during the day, Jakeem works as a Management and Program Analyst in the General Counsel’s Office of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA). At EOUSA, Jakeem provides program support for the Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) and Senior Litigation Counsel (SLC) approval programs; the Financial Disclosure program and assists in general government ethics program management.

Before joining EOUSA, Jakeem served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Air Force. During his 12 years of service, Jakeem held various leadership roles in intelligence, mobility, and logistics. Additionally, Jakeem has worked in diverse fields holding positions at Deloitte Consulting LLP as a Financial Consultant, the Department of Justice Antitrust Division as a Paralegal, and Keller Williams as a Commercial Realtor.

Jakeem graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Wichita State University.
