Jake is a 1L at Georgetown Law in Cohort 7 of the Business Law Scholars program. After law school, he hopes to join a legal team where he can find innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing businesses. Jake is passionate about foreign affairs and is interested in working with global business clients in navigating the dynamic, increasingly-connected international environment.

Jake is a 1L Delegate in the Corporate and Financial Law Organization and an active member of Georgetown’s Military Law Society. This summer, Jake will join Kirkland & Ellis as a Social Justice Fellow in their Washington, D.C. office.

Background

Jake graduated with merit from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis with a degree in Ocean Engineering. He served in various positions within First Company including as a Platoon Commander, Squad Leader, and Plebe Summer Detailer.

Prior to entering law school, Jake served for six years as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy. He led teams of military and inter-agency intelligence professionals in Navy and Joint commands and twice deployed to Joint Task Forces in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, in which he served as the all-source intelligence element officer-in-charge of thirty-six personnel. Jake used his training in inter-agency communications to engage with leaders across the U.S. government, build multinational communities of action, and support global special operations activities.

Beyond Law School

Jake is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and he and his wife, Gabrielle, now call Alexandria, Virginia home. Jake is a young professional member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a novice golfer. In his free time, he enjoys working out, making espresso drinks, traveling, keeping up with foreign affairs, and playing with his dog.
