Jonathan Oliver
JD is a 3L student and a member of Cohort 6 in the Business Law Scholars program. His practice area interests include M&A, Energy Transactions, Project Finance, Capital Markets, and Emerging Companies.
JD is the Vice President of Corporate Communications for the Georgetown Law Texas Club, a Staff Editor on the Georgetown Journal of Law & Public Policy, and a Student Fellow with the Georgetown Center for the Constitution.
Background
JD graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. During his time at the University of Arkansas, he served as a Student Ambassador and Student Mobilization Volunteer. He was also a member of Beta Upsilon Chi. After graduation, JD took a gap year where he engaged in many endeavors. He is most proud of the work he did for Compassion House, a small nonprofit organization in Arkansas. JD raised over $10,000 in grant funding to assist with costs related to transportation, education, and housing for teen moms in crisis. JD spent his 1L summer as a Law Clerk for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
Beyond Law School
JD is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. He enjoys tennis, pickleball, golf, and college football Saturdays. On fall Saturdays, you will find JD and his wife either walking around DC or calling the Hogs (Arkansas Razorbacks). JD and his wife are also members of Passion City Church in DC.
