Michael is a current Georgetown Law student in the second cohort of the competitive Business Law Scholars program. He is also an awardee of the Opportunity Scholarship.

This past year, Michael was a Summer Associate in the Washington, DC office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He will return to the firm as a Corporate Associate in 2021.

During his first year at Georgetown, Michael served as a Section Delegate of CFLO, the Corporate and Financial Law Organization. Michael spent his 1L summer interning at Montgomery County’s Office of the County Attorney in Maryland and was a Research Assistant for Georgetown’s Annual Review of Criminal Procedure. He interned at the Securities & Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement, during the Fall of 2019. Michael currently works as a Research Assistant to Professor Emma C. Jordan, the J. Crilley Kelly and Terry Curtin Kelly Professor of Business Law at Georgetown Law.

Michael demonstrates a strong commitment to volunteer legal service. During his first year of law school, Michael volunteered at the Landlord Tenant Resource Center in Washington, DC, and the Louisiana Capital Assistance Center in New Orleans, LA. He also served as a volunteer intern at Disability Rights DC during his 2L summer. Michael’s enthusiasm for helping individuals with disabilities stems from his work at the Disability Office of J.S. Lichtman, a law firm located in Philadelphia, PA, where he worked as a Records Coordinator before law school.

Michael earned his bioengineering degree cum laude at Temple University in 2018. While studying at Temple, Michael developed a software company concept and worked with Blackstone Launchpad to create a business plan. Although he terminated the startup due to a lack of funding, Michael enjoyed using appropriate documentation to plan future transactions and manage risk. He is excited to assist other businesses in achieving their goals after law school.
