Rich is a Georgetown Law 3L and a member of Cohort 5 of the Business Law Scholars program. He is a merit scholar and was selected as a RISE Fellow and Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) Fellow. He is a member of the Corporate & Financial Law Organization (CFLO) and the Corporate Symposium Student Advisory Board. Rich is eager to explore the nexus between law, finance, and technology, and hopes to pursue a career involving FinTech, M&A, and venture capital.

Background

Prior to entering Georgetown, Rich spent several years in financial services at State Street Corporation, the world’s largest custodian bank. He served in numerous capacities, most recently as an Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Client Profitability FP&A group and gained tremendous insight into different facets of the bank, traversing Global Technology, Global Markets, and Global Services. Rich was a Client Experience Program Manager, Business Architecture Risk Management Project Manager, Securities Finance Operations Specialist, and Structured Finance Analyst. Before State Street, he was an Education Pioneers Summer Graduate Fellow in New York City and Seattle, a consultant for the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills in Paris, and a New York City Teaching Fellow (High School English Teacher at DeWitt Clinton in the Bronx).

Rich earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College and graduate degrees from Fordham University, Columbia University, and the London School of Economics. Additionally, he studied abroad in Spain (Salamanca), England (Oxford, Cambridge), and Italy (Bologna). Rich is an active member of several communities including Boston College (Presidential Consultation Program for Alumni Emerging Leaders; Neenan Volunteer Council, Endeavor Program; Technology & Entrepreneurship Council), Worcester Academy (Board of Visitors), International House New York (World Council of Alumni), and Oxford Entrepreneurs Network.

Beyond Law School

Rich is from Massachusetts. He is a dual citizen of the United States and the Republic of Ireland and has lived in Boston, New York, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and London, among others. His identical twin brother, Ed, also attends Georgetown Law. Rich thoroughly enjoys traveling around the world, visiting national parks (Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Acadia, Yellowstone, Grand Teton), and attending events of all kinds (especially concerts, stand-up comedy, and sports). He is also an avid landscape and architecture photographer.
