Shuyu is a 1L at Georgetown Law in Cohort 7 of the Business Law Scholars program. After law school, she would like to practice corporate law at a private law firm. On campus, she is involved as a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and the First Generation Student Union. This summer, she will be working as a 1L Summer Associate and Diversity Scholar at Latham’s DC office.

Background

Prior to law school, Shuyu was a paralegal with Sichuan Chuanhao Law Firm in Chengdu, China. Previously, she was the CEO of China for La Fee Maraboutée, a French women’s ready-to-wear brand founded in 1996. She worked in both France and China; Led all the operations in China, and created an integrated management system, including logistics, marketing, store management, finance, HR, and employee training; and raised online and offline store annual revenue by 150%, from 24 million to 60 million RMB. Shuyu also has experience as the Co-founder of Yumso Take-out Food-APP, an online delivery platform for private kitchens/restaurants in Seattle where she led and organized market strategy and business development.

Shuyu graduated from the University of Washington in 2017 with a BA in International Relations and a minor in French. She was the Founder and Vice President of the Dedicated to Soirée Student Association and Founder of STEP UP Dance Club.

At the University of Southern California Marshall Business School, she received a Master of Business Analysis in Integrated Marketing and was on the Dean’s List as well as the first prize winner of the startup competition.

Beyond Law School

Shuyu is from Chengdu, China. In her free time, she enjoys Korean Pop dancing, weightlifting, yoga, piano, reading, traveling, and watching thriller movies.
