On campus, he is involved in the Military Law Society.

Background

Prior to law school, Willem served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. In his most recent role as a Battalion Logistics Officer, he led logistics operations supporting more than 2,000 personnel across the Indo-Pacific, coordinating with international partners and overseeing the movement of personnel, equipment, and sensitive materials in support of joint and combined military exercises.

Earlier in his service, Willem held a series of leadership roles, including Platoon Commander and Maintenance Management Officer, where he led Marines, managed multimillion-dollar equipment portfolios, and developed policies that improved maintenance and personnel readiness. Across these roles, he has focused on operational efficiency, accountability, and team development in complex, high-stakes environments.

Willem has a degree in History from the United States Naval Academy.

This summer, Willem will be interning at the Maryland Supreme Court.

Beyond Law School

Willem is from Annapolis, MD. In his free time, he enjoys practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and golfing. He likes learning about new things and challenging himself.
