the Initiative’s tenth-anniversary celebration: a special evening of art, poetry, and more to celebrate the joys of Black girlhood!

An incredible lineup of artists, scholars, and youth will join us throughout the evening for performances and discussion of the importance of centering marginalized girls.

The Initiative, which authored the original adultification bias report, will be represented by Senior Scholar Dr. Camille Quinn, our Youth Storyteller in Residence, Logan Green, and Executive Director Rebecca Epstein.

Come join artists and activists including Marley Dias, founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, Scheherazade Tillet, photo-based artist, curator, and feminist activist who explores the themes of Blackness, play, freedom, trauma, and healing, and Makayla Rivera, a youth poet, to bring our work to life.
