Major Ryan Fisher, Professor of National Security Law at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, will present a recently-published article entitled “Defending Taiwan: Collective Self-Defense of a Contested State” – a thought-provoking piece which raises timely questions regarding the legal status of Taiwan’s statehood and its impact on the right to collective self-defense under international law. Following the presentation, an open discussion will be held with Major Fisher regarding the implications of his article for international law and foreign policy.

The event is sponsored by the National Security Law Society in coordination with the Georgetown Center for Asian Law.
