Field Supervisor and Student Evaluations
At the mid-semester point, both students and field supervisors will receive separate Mid-Semester Surveys to gauge how the externship is proceeding up to that point. At the end of the semester, students and field supervisors will similarly receive separate End-of-Semester Surveys. For the summer session, the same process is applied with Mid-Summer Surveys/Evaluations. These evaluations help ensure the field placement experience is proceeding appropriately for our students and the field placements.
Both evaluations will be disseminated by the J.D. Externship Program with instructions on how and when to submit the completed evaluations. The J.D. Externship Program will share the completed Field Supervisor Mid-Semester Surveys and Field Supervisor End-of-Semester Evaluations with each student’s externship seminar professor.
NOTE: Students will not receive their final grade for the course if the Student Mid-Semester Self-Reflection Survey or Student End-of-Semester Field Placement Evaluation that they are responsible for completing has not been submitted.
In addition, the J.D. Externship Program may conduct an on-site, telephonic, and/or video site visit with a field placement. Site visits are an opportunity for the J.D. Externship Program to learn more about a student’s externship experience and address any questions/concerns a field supervisor may have about the externship and/or the J.D. Externship Program.
