Students may drop the J.D. Externship Program from their course schedule without penalty at any time before the Add/Drop deadline (or summer session registration deadline).

After Add/Drop, (or the summer session registration deadline), a student who wishes to withdraw from the externship course must obtain permission from the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education or her designee. The Assistant Dean will grant such withdrawal requests only when remaining enrolled in the course would cause significant hardship for the student. A student who is granted permission to withdraw will be withdrawn from both the seminar and fieldwork components, with a corresponding “W” transcript notation.
