Aarash A. Haghighat is a cybercrime prosecutor who joined the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2016. Mr. Haghighat is currently Senior Counsel with the Criminal Division’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section where he prosecutes cybercrime cases and supports DOJ’s related cyber policy initiatives. He previously served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, where he focused on cybercrime, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies, and Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Cybercrime Unit of the United States Attorneys’ Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Before joining the DOJ, Mr. Haghighat was a litigation associate at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C. Mr. Haghighat graduated with distinction from Duke University, and as a Harlan Fisk Stone Scholar from Columbia Law School.
