Professor Ahanchian is a Principal within the Trade and Customs Practice of KPMG LLP’s Global Indirect Tax service line. Amie is a licensed U.S. Customs broker and a leader in the firm’s foreign trade zone service line and global trade management initiative. Amie has 16 years of experience advising multinational companies on global indirect tax planning in the area of customs duties and fees; global import and export compliance matters; and operational supply chain benefits. Amie acquired her experience assisting clients in diverse industries with the identification and realization of return on investment from global customs duty planning, including implementation of foreign trade zones, free trade agreements/preferential trade programs, first-sale for export, tariff reengineering, customs valuation review, and other savings opportunities. Amie also advises multinational companies on global import and export compliance. In the area of global trade management, Amie focuses on the development of processes, use of data analytics, and deployment of technology to manage trade compliance risk throughout the supply chain. Amie is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the District of Columbia Bar, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit. Amie is a frequent speaker at trade association conferences and has published numerous articles on topical trade matters.
