Jeff served as a state prosecutor in Virginia for five years and as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia for 29 years. He has extensive investigation and trial experience including complex conspiracy, narcotics and homicide prosecutions. He also served as the chief of numerous litigation sections throughout his prosecutor career. In 2016, he was appointed to be the Deputy Counsel of the the Department of Justice’s Office of Professional Responsibility and was later appointed to be the Counsel, during which time he oversaw professional misconduct investigations of the Department’s attorneys regarding their authority to investigate, litigate and provide legal advice. Jeff retired from the Department in 2025.
