Jennifer Gniady is currently Partner and Chair of the Religious, Educational and Nonprofit Organizations practice group based out of the D.C. office of Stradley Ronon. She assists a wide variety of organizations in creating civil structures that reflect and respect their missions, obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, and identifying constitutional and statutory protections for religious rights. She is the co-author of Tax Issues of Religious Organizations, published by Bloomberg Law, and a regular presenter at CLE programs on tax-exemption compliance, group ruling determinations, healthcare conscience protections, and educational and associational freedoms in the charitable sector.
Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked at a variety of media companies where her editorial and management experience included First Amendment rights in the context of the press and she continues to work with nonprofit news organizations today. She graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in Journalism (S.I. Newhouse School) and Molecular Biology (Arts & Sciences). She attended Fordham University School of Law in the evening student program, where she was a member of the Fordham Law Review, Fordham Moot Court, and Stein Scholars for the Public Interest. She graduated cum laude and received the Joseph J. Crowley Award, Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, and Senior Prize.
