Justin Connor

Justin A. Connor is an experienced former chief legal officer and business leader with over 25 years of law practice experience, including in government, private practice, in-house and in non-profit organizations. Currently, Justin serves as the inaugural Executive Director of The Center for Industry Self-Regulation (CISR), a 501(c)(3) non-profit created by BBB National Programs to focus on unleashing the power of business to come up with creative solutions to its own challenges through industry self-regulation.
Previously, Justin served as the director of chief legal officer engagement and corporate membership at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in Washington, D.C. where he created a suite of world-class leadership education programs for in-house legal leaders. Before joining ACC, Justin was corporate counsel to Giesecke & Devrient, a mobile security software provider and security printer, and practiced corporate and regulatory law with a satellite telecommunications provider in Northern Virginia. His global background includes working in Dubai, UAE as the head of legal and regulatory affairs for a sovereign investor in telecommunications and private law practice with the largest law firm in the Gulf region.
Earlier in his career, Connor served as an attorney at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for almost six years working on global M&A transactions, rulemakings, and inter-agency proceedings. In 2004, he was selected as a U.S. Fulbright fellow to teach law and research in Beirut, Lebanon. Before joining the FCC, Connor was an associate in antitrust litigation at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe, LLP in Washington DC. Before that, he taught law in Chisinau, Moldova as Visiting Professor with the Civic Education Project.
Justin received his JD from Northeastern University School of Law and his BA from Earlham College and is admitted to the bar in New York, the District of Columbia and Massachusetts.
