Professor Till is in an Of Counsel position at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett and Dunner, LLP in Washington, DC. Professor Till has over 30 years of professional experience in patent law specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. She recently left a policy development position with the Office of Patent Legal Administration at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where she administered the provisions of the Hatch-Waxman Act under 35 USC 156 on behalf of the USPTO and was actively involved in the collaboration between the USPTO and the FDA. She worked with a multidisciplinary team implement the First Inventor To File provisions of the America Invents Act, for which she received a Gold medal from the Department of Commerce and worked with a global team to implement the new standard for submission of biotechnology data to intellectual property offices worldwide for which she received a second Gold medal from the Department of Commerce. Currently, Professor Till leverages her extensive experience in patent law to provide patent prosecution counseling services to a broad range of clients. Drawing on her insider’s perspective with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), she represents entities from large corporations to startups and universities needing patent procurement, portfolio evaluations, and portfolio management services. Professor Till has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Gannon University, a master’s degrees in synthetic organic chemistry from Virginia Tech and a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
