Matthew Howard is an investment funds partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Mr. Howard advises clients on asset management matters, including the structuring and offering of private investment funds and other alternative investment vehicles.
Clients rely on Matt’s counsel on investment strategies in multiple assets classes, including private equity/buyout, credit, GP stakes, real estate and various industry and region-specific investment vehicles. He also advises clients on employee investment vehicles, management company arrangements, carried interest plans and other incentive arrangements. In addition to his work with U.S.-focused investment platforms, Matt has advised sponsors of funds targeting Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Mr. Howard’s clients have included a number of major financial institutions and prominent fund sponsors, including Apollo, Argand Partners, Bain Capital, Dyal Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs, Investcorp, Morgan Stanley, Neuberger Berman and Permira.
