Professor Anello has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of law, investigations, and policy. He is a member of Co-Equal, which seeks to ensure that Congress serves as a co-equal branch of government. He served in the White House as Deputy Counsel to President Biden and in the House of Representatives as Staff Director for the Oversight Committee under Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney.
Professor Anello previously served as Counsel to Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, Chief Oversight Counsel to Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, and Deputy Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis under Chairman Jim Clyburn.
Under President Obama, Professor Anello held roles at the White House, the Department of Health and Human Services, and a bipartisan commission. He spent five years as an associate at a major law firm, where he focused on government investigations.
He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College and a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was an editor on the Harvard Law Review and a Heyman Fellow.
