Emily Murphy graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Temple University Honors College with a B.S. in Community Development, a B.A. in Spanish and a certificate in Latin American Studies. During her time at Temple, Emily studied abroad twice, in Oviedo, Spain and Quito, Ecuador, where she studied Spanish and volunteered at local non-profit organizations. As the director of Honors Community Outreach, she created a database of volunteer organizations around Philadelphia and connected other students with volunteer opportunities.

During the past year, Emily worked as an English teaching fellow in Israeli public schools in Tel Aviv and Nazareth. Through this experience, she was able to build relationships with Jewish and Arab students and interact with the diverse communities within these cities. Emily speaks Spanish, conversational Hebrew and basic Arabic.
