Jack Day
Jack Day graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2022 with a B.A. in Public Policy Leadership and a minor in French. As an undergraduate, he was a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, where he wrote a thesis applying French continental philosophy to an analysis of Viennese social housing policy. He also served as a senator in the Associated Student Body, where he advocated for more sustainable and accessible campus infrastructure.
After graduation, Jack moved to Chicago to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Northwestern University in an office supporting first-generation, low-income, and undocumented/DACA students. Upon finishing his VISTA year, he would go on to work in this office as a full-time employee. While living in Chicago, Jack also became a regular volunteer at a local food pantry that primarily serves Spanish-speaking clients, serving as a personal shopper to families in need. His direct engagement with immigrant communities sparked a growing interest in Latin American politics and international justice. In recent years, he has focused on studying Spanish and deepening his understanding of Latin America’s position in the global political economy.
At Georgetown Law, Jack hopes to explore the intersection of international trade, human rights, and sustainable development, particularly as it relates to the Global South. He speaks Spanish and French, and has recently begun studying Mandarin Chinese in his free time.
