Adam J. Levitin, Associate Professor of Law

Professor Levitin specializes in bankruptcy and commercial law. He also serves as Special Counsel for Mortgage Affairs for the Congressional Oversight Panel and is the Robert Zinman Resident Scholar at the American Bankruptcy Institute. Before joining the Georgetown faculty, Professor Levitin practiced in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York and served as law clerk to the Honorable Jane Richards Roth on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Professor Levitin's research focuses on the role of financial institutions in consumer and business transactions, including credit card and mortgage lending and bankruptcy reorganizations. Professor Levitin holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.Phil and an A.M. from Columbia University, and an A.B. from Harvard College, all with honors.
