The J.D./LL.M. Joint Degree in National Security Law is highly competitve, and only a select number of J.D. students will gain admission. Students must apply for admission to the program between May 1 and June 30 of their 2L/3E year. Georgetown J.D. students who are admitted to this program and take at least nine credits derived from the listed national security law courses will be able to complete an LL.M. degree in one additional semester (or somewhat longer if they choose to complete the program on a part time basis). Students would be required to take twelve credits in the additional fall semester, comprised of the Proseminar in National Security Law (three credits) and six credits of other listed national security law courses, and an additional three credits open for study as they wish.
