Bethany Lipman is a Visiting Professor of Legal Practice. She previously served as a trial attorney at the United States Department of Justice. After joining DOJ through the Attorney General’s Honors Program, Professor Lipman worked in the Organized Crime and Gang Section of the Criminal Division, where she prosecuted a variety of criminal groups for racketeering and other offenses in partnership with United States Attorney’s Offices around the country. In 2022, Professor Lipman joined DOJ’s Antitrust Division, where she prosecuted companies and individuals for criminal violations of federal antitrust laws. Professor Lipman clerked for the Honorable Mark R. Hornak on the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and for the Honorable Roy W. McLeese III on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Professor Lipman received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A. in political science and English, summa cum laude, from the University of Vermont.
