Feb. 2 Conference Probes Tax Reform Impact on International Business and the U.S. Tax Base

January 25, 2018

WASHINGTONย โ€“ Georgetown Lawโ€™sย Institute of International Economic Lawย and the International Tax Policy Forum will host a Feb. 2 conference at Georgetown Law:ย โ€œCan an Internationally Competitive Tax System Protect Its Tax Base?โ€

WHAT

The new tax law reduced the U.S. corporate tax rate and reshaped the international tax landscape, but many questions remain about what the changes mean and how they will play out. At this conference, academics, economists and tax law practitioners will discuss the new lawโ€™s international provisions and how various approaches to regulating them could impact the competitiveness of U.S. companies, foreign investment in the U.S. and jobs for U.S. workers.

The conference will feature keynote remarks by Kevin Hassett, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
