Emma Sirota
Emma is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at Georgetown Law, where she is expected to graduate in May 2027 as a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars program. After law school, she plans to practice transactional law in BigLaw and perhaps transition to in-house at a large corporation later in her career. Practice areas of interest include Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Restructuring. This summer, Emma will be a Summer Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York.
At Georgetown, she is a Student Fellow at the Georgetown Center for the Constitution, Communications Director for Business and Human Rights at Georgetown (BHRG), and Secretary of the Georgetown International Law Society. She serves on the Communications Team of the International Refugee Assistance Project Executive Board, and as a 1L Representative on the Immigration Law Student Association Executive Board. She is also an active member of the Corporate and Financial Law Organization and Women’s Legal Alliance. Outside of coursework and student organizations, Emma also provides pro bono support to the Center for Applied Legal Studies.
Background
Emma graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in History. During her undergraduate years, she was a member of the Tau Sigma Academic Honor Society, the Pre-Law Transfer Society, Teach4Change, and Transfer Students of Hillel. She gained experience in commercial and industrial real estate at Lee & Associates, earned her real estate license, and worked as a tutor for children with learning disabilities.
Prior to law school, Emma was on the Strategy & Business Development team for a Ukrainian luxury clothing brand and worked in private equity, specializing in multifamily and commercial real estate, as well as wealth management at The Goldfinger Group in Los Angeles. In addition to her academic pursuits, she supports refugee communities through fundraising, translation services, and direct aid efforts.
Beyond Law School
Emma is from Los Angeles, California. She grew up playing piano and speaks fluent Russian. Outside of law school, she enjoys traveling, running, pilates, tennis, and volleyball. She also has a strong interest in the arts, particularly ballet, traditional art collections, and classical music.
