Judge Eric S. Glover is a Magistrate Judge with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Since joining the Court in the summer of 2023, he has served on its Criminal and Domestic Violence Divisions. He has presided over hundreds of arraignments, preliminary and detention hearings, and hearings involving requests for temporary protection and anti-stalking orders. Judge Glover is also a member of the Court’s Judicial Education Committee.
Before joining the Court, Judge Glover served as the General Counsel for the District of Columbia Department of Corrections. In this role, he provided legal counsel to the agency’s leadership and assisted in developing and implementing various policies and programs. Prior to that, he worked at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia (OAG) as Chief of its Civil Enforcement Section, managing the agency’s affirmative litigation team. He also served as a trial attorney within the OAG’s Civil Litigation Division, defending the District, its employees, and its agencies in numerous civil lawsuits, including several civil rights cases filed under 42 U.S.C. ยง 1983. Additionally, Judge Glover served as the General Counsel for the District’s Office of Risk Management and practiced criminal, civil, and medical malpractice law in New York City.
Judge Glover is a member of the Council for Court Excellence and the Washington Bar Association. He also mentors students through the Abrahamson Scholarship Foundation. He previously served on various committees, including the D.C. Bar’s Litigation Section Steering Committee, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and the District of Columbia Sentencing Commission.
