Professor McNally is currently seconded to Apollo Global Management, Inc., from the Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP Executive Compensation Group in New York, where he focuses on advisory and transaction compensation matters. Prior thereto, he worked on executive compensation concerns for the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel, where he was a drafter of the regulations implementing Sections 4960 and 4501 of the Internal Revenue Code.

He previously taught at the American University Kogod School of Business and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He serves on the board of directors of Community Tax Aid, Inc., and is a longtime Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer. He earned both his LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Binghamton University (SUNY).
