Mary Fulginiti oversees investigative and business intelligence matters for clients around the globe. Building upon more than 25 years of legal and investigative experience — having served as an Assistant United States Attorney, a criminal and civil litigator, and a national correspondent for ABC News — Mary finds comprehensive solutions and brings a unique understanding of legal, government and media-related issues to the complexity of problems clients face doing business domestically and abroad. She also served on the Advisory Board to the Los Angeles Police Commission and is currently the Vice Chair of the Oversight Board for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, a member of Georgetown University Law Centerโs Board of Visitors, and a legal consultant for CBS News program 48 Hours.
Previously Ms. Fulginiti was the Managing Director of Kroll and Stroz Friedberg Los Angeles, where she led the Investigations and Business Intelligence Groups. She oversaw regulatory compliance matters, in addition to complex investigations related to fraud, bribery, extortion, sexual misconduct, IP theft, data breaches, cyber-crimes, and due diligence for government and private sector clients. Most notably, while at Stroz Friedberg, she led the high-profile investigation concerning employees accused of stealing valuable IP related to the self-driving car while employed at Google (Waymo v. Uber) and the investigation of sexual misconduct/rape allegations by employees at the UNโs World Food Programme.
Ms. Fulginiti was also an on-air ABC News national correspondent, with extensive media and entertainment industry relationships. She investigated and reported on a number of legal stories for “20/20,” “Primetime,” “Nightline” and “Good Morning America” on topics that probed into identity theft, murder, domestic violence, child abuse, police brutality, and cyber bullying, among others. She covered several high-profile stories for the network, notably the death of Michael Jackson, the prosecution of Mary Winkler (the “Preacher’s Wife”) and the suicide of Megan Meier due to cyber bullying (“MySpace Suicide Case”).
Before joining ABC, Ms. Fulginiti was a member of the White-Collar Criminal Defense practice group at Jones Day, where she directed sophisticated white-collar matters involving tax fraud, extortion, money laundering, RICO, and other criminal enterprises. She led numerous investigations, trials, and hearings on behalf of multinational clients and high-profile individuals, including the defense of Ruben Zuno-Arce accused of killing, murdering and torturing DEA Agent Kiki Camarena.
As an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles Ms. Fulginiti investigated and prosecuted a wide range of federal crimes, including RICO, mail and wire fraud, narcotics trafficking, embezzlement, and money laundering. During that time, she received special recognition from the U.S. Department of Justice – Federal Bureau of Investigation for her successful prosecution of the leader of the East Coast Crips. Ms. Fulginiti earned a B.A. from Boston College and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
