Scott McBride is currently Of Counsel with the boutique international trade law firm, The Bristol Group, PLLC. In this capacity, Mr. McBride represents domestic and international clients in trade remedy matters and disputes before the United States Department of Commerce, United States International Trade Commission, United States Customs and Border Protection, the United States Court of International Trade (“CIT”), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (“Federal Circuit”).

Before joining the private sector, Mr. McBride retired after 25 years with the United States Department of Commerce in 2025, where he served as the Assistant Deputy Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement and Compliance. In that capacity, Mr. McBride represented the United States in disputes before several North American Free Trade Agreement and World Trade Organization dispute panels, including the WTO Appellate Body. He also served as second chair to the United States Department of Justice and drafted briefs in dozens of cases before the CIT and Federal Circuit defending Commerce’s antidumping and countervailing duty determinations. In addition, Mr. McBride was the lead manager and drafter of all United States antidumping and countervailing duty regulations and revisions implemented from 2015 to 2025. Furthermore, Mr. McBride served as legal counsel for several years to the Foreign Trade Zone Board, helped negotiate the five-billion-dollar 2006 Softwood Lumber Agreement, served on the intergovernmental Softwood Lumber Committee for nine years, and served on the interagency Trade Policy Staff Committee for over a decade.

Prior to graduating from William and Mary School of Law in 1999, Mr. McBride served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Central African Republic for two years, from 1993 to 1995.
