As part of the Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 request process, the following documents will need to be collected, prepared, and uploaded into your International Student Portal account.

Please allow 3-5 business days for the International Student Questionnaire to be reviewed and approved to receive an activation email into your Georgetown email address to create an International Student Portal account. Please review Steps 1-3 in the Request an I-20 or DS-2019 page for more information on how to provide us your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 supporting documents.

Applicant Information Form

Please download, fill out and complete the Georgetown Law Applicant Information Form.

Passport Biographic Page

Upload a scanned copy or clear photograph of your passport biographic page. In general, passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months into the future on the date you enter the United States and at all times throughout your stay.

Proof of Funding

To obtain a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019, students must show they have enough financial support to cover their academic costs of attendance at Georgetown and estimated living expenses for the Washington, DC area.

International Student Orientation Pre-Arrival Quiz

The International Student Orientation Pre-Arrival Quiz requirement DOES NOT apply to Law Center students. This is a requirement for students studying in an academic program at Georgetown University Main Campus and the School of Continuing Studies. Please leave this section blank in the International Student Portal.

English Language Proficiency (J-1 Students Only)

Only J-1 students are required to provide materials to prove English proficiency for the Form DS-2019.

F-1 students are not required to provide materials to prove English proficiency for the Form I-20.

SEVIS Transfer Documents

If you currently hold an active Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 at a different educational institution or from Georgetown University Main Campus, you may need to transfer your F-1 or J-1 immigration record to Georgetown Law before starting your studies.

Dependent Documents

Only students who plan to bring a spouse and/or child(ren) with them to the United States in F-2 or J-2 dependent status must submit documents for this requirement. All dependents require an F-2 Form I-20 or J-2 Form DS-2019 immigration document to obtain the F-2 or J-2 visa and enter the United States in F-2 or J-2 status. If you do not plan to bring your spouse and/or child(ren) to the United States, please leave this section blank in the International Student Portal.

Short-Term Residency Conditions of Study

The Short-Term Residency Conditions of Study requirement DOES NOT apply to Law Center students. This is a requirement for students studying in an executive program at Georgetown University Main Campus and the School of Continuing Studies.
