Transfer Documents
If you currently hold an active Form I-20 or Form DS-2019, you must transfer your immigration record from your previous institution to Georgetown. Please note that F-1 students are eligible to transfer their SEVIS records for 60 days following the end date on the Form I-20 or EAD card. You must submit your complete application including the transfer documents listed below no later than 2 weeks prior to your program start date listed on the Proof of Funding page; however, the date your SEVIS record is released to Georgetown can be after this deadline. You may finish current semester coursework or post-completion training under your current institution. The Georgetown Law Center SEVIS school code is WAS214F00001001.
J-1 students must initiate the transfer of their SEVIS records before the end date on their currentĀ Form DS-2019.
In addition to the documents above (applicant information form, proof of funding, and passport biographical page), you must submit all of the following documents:
- Most recent I-94 record
- Copy of current I-20 from school you are transferring from
- Copy of most recent F-1 or J-1 visa
- Report your current U.S. physical home address and phone number as your Local Off Campus address in MyAccess. Students who are currently outside of the United States must enter this information within 10 days of reentry.
