Recognition Societies
Recognition societies honor and thank alumni, parents and friends who help advance the Law Center through generous financial support. Society members enjoy a number of benefits, including invitations to members-only events and special university communications.
1789 Society
Donors who contribute $1 million or more to the university are members of the 1789 Society, named for the year in which the university was founded. They are honored for their extraordinary generosity at the spring semester faculty convocation. Learn more about the 1789 Society.
Legacy Society
The Georgetown Legacy Society honors and celebrates donors who have included a gift for Georgetown in their estate plans. These gifts take many forms, including simple bequests by will, designations of retirement plan assets, life income gifts and more. Legacy donors may direct their gift to establish a named endowed fund at Georgetown, etching their family names in the history of Georgetown, forever. Learn more about the Legacy Society.
Frank Hogan Society
Membership in the Frank Hogan Society is extended to alumni, parents, and friends who make gifts or pledges to the Georgetown University Law Center totaling $5,000 or more each year. This support is essential for the Law School and provides critical resources that are used to address immediate needs. Membership in the Hogan Society reflects a heightened commitment to legal education and a belief in the mission of the Law Center. Learn more about the Frank Hogan Society.
Loyalty Society
Donors who make a gift of any amount to Georgetown for two consecutive fiscal years are members of the Loyalty Society. Benefits increase as donors sustain their pattern of giving beyond two years. If you have missed a year of giving, you may donate through our Buyback Program to make up the years you missed. Learn more about the Loyalty Society.
