Daniel Wang
Daniel is a 1L student and a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars program. After law school, he plans to practice corporate transactional law, with interest in M&A, private equity, and capital markets.
On campus, Daniel is a member of the Barristers’ Council Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Competition Team, is a RISE Fellow, and serves as a 1L Delegate for Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA). He is also a member of the Corporate & Financial Law Organization (CFLO) and the First Generation Student Union (FGSU).
For his 1L summer, Daniel will be joining Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in their Houston office.
Background
Daniel graduated from Western University’s Ivey Business School in London, Ontario, Canada with a degree in Honors Business Administration. During undergrad, Daniel served as the President of 180 Degrees Consulting at Western University, President of Western Environmental Business Club, Vice President of Events for UNICEF Western, Vice President of Events for Ivey Law Club, and Section President of Ivey Sales Club.
Before law school, Daniel gained experience in financial services and private equity. He worked as a Corporate Client Relationship Intern at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in Toronto, Canada. He also worked as a Private Equity Intern at Hudson Bend based in Dallas, Texas.
Beyond Law School
Daniel is from Vancouver, Canada, but spent the majority of his childhood in Shanghai, China. He is bilingual in English and Mandarin. In his free time, Daniel enjoys skiing, tennis, badminton, golf, and swimming. A dedicated Formula 1 fan, Daniel also plays the piano and clarinet, enjoys exploring different cuisines and listening to music.
