David is a 1L student and a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars program. After graduation, he plans to work in a financial services practice at a Big Law firm. Long term, he would like to work in supranational economic governance to help foster and promote a financial system that promotes inclusive economic growth and global prosperity.

At Georgetown, David is involved as a RISE Scholar, IIEL Fellow, and member of OutLaw and JLSA.

Background

David holds a Master of International Economics and Finance from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Pepperdine University.

Prior to Georgetown, David was a Senior Policy Advisor for Financial Institutions Policy in Domestic Finance at the U.S. Department of the Treasury where he developed Treasury’s policies on issues impacting financial institutions, specifically related to new developments in financial technology, payments, digital assets, cloud, data privacy and security, consumer protections, as well as prudential regulatory matters.

During his time at Treasury, David contributed to several reports on digital assets, and was the primary author of Treasury’s report to the White House Competition Council entitled Assessing the Impact of New Entrant Non-bank Firms on Competition in Consumer Finance Markets, as well as an interagency non-paper assessing privacy and illicit finance implications of a potential U.S. CBDC.

This summer, David will be interning at tech startup, Radius, which is building infrastructure to enhance the speed, efficiency, and scalability of on-chain transactions.

Beyond Law School

David is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, reading, traveling, coin collecting, and learning new languages. He is passionate about poverty alleviation and community and economic development, and enjoys volunteering, particularly preparing meals for those in need at DC Central Kitchen.
