J.R. Molm

Musician with Interest in Transactional Law

J.R. is in Cohort 4 of the Business Law Scholars Program. Between his 1L and 2L  years, J.R. completed a judicial internship with The Honorable Wendy W. Berger in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. He will spend next summer with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in their Washington, D.C. office as a summer associate where he hopes to pursue corporate transactional law.

Background

Prior to Georgetown, J.R. attended the University of Florida and graduated in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSAc). While at UF, he served many prominent leadership roles such as Vice President for Florida Blue Key and numerous positions in Student Government. He was inducted into the UF Hall of Fame during his final year along with 24 other students for his accomplishments on campus.

While an undergraduate student, J.R. gained valuable experience in accounting through an internship with Stillwater Insurance in Jacksonville, Florida. He helped complete account reconciliations and improved data analytics by assisting with the transition of their data systems to Tableau.

He primarily grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, but spent his early years in Washington, D.C. He is enjoying his time back in D.C. while attending Georgetown Law.

Outside the Classroom

In his spare time, J.R. enjoys exercise, creating and producing music, and reading. He is the vocalist/lyricist for a band he formed with two members of his first year section, “The Restatements,” including fellow Business Law Scholar, Zachary Hawkins.
