Justin Chen
Justin is a 1L student and a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars program. Practice areas of interest include Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Securities, IPOs, and Private Equity. Post graduation, he plans on working in New York.
At Georgetown, Justin is involved in the Asian Pacific American Law Association (APALSA), Corporate and Finance Law Organization (CFLO), Chess Club, Federalist Society, and a Student Fellow at the Center for the Constitution.
Background
Justin graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Minors in History and Entrepreneurship. During undergrad, he was involved in the Bruin Political Review, Business Law & Investing Society, UCLA Club Wrestling, and lethal autonomous weapons (LAWs) nonproliferation research through the UCLA Burkle Center.
In the year between undergrad and Georgetown, Justin trained in Muay Thai and MMA in Phuket, Thailand, he travelled through Southeast Asia, served six months with a tank battalion in the Taiwanese Army, worked as a part time LSAT tutor, and then spent the summer before law school in Europe.
Justin will join Paul Hastings’ New York office this summer as a 1L Summer Associate in the M&A and private equity practice groups.
Beyond Law School
Justin is from Santa Clarita, California and Taipei, Taiwan. Interests include MMA, Chess, Geography, History, violin, drums, learning languages, graphic design, and investing. Justin is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese Hokkien, and has limited working proficiency in Spanish.
