Madalyn Brummel
Madalyn is a 1L at Georgetown Law and a member of Cohort 8 in the Business Law Scholars Program. She is interested in corporate law, particularly mergers & acquisitions and private equity. At Georgetown, Madalyn is involved in the Women’s Legal Alliance and the Corporate & Financial Law Organization.
Background
Before law school, Madalyn worked in investment banking at Barclays, where she was an Assistant Vice President in Healthcare Coverage. In this role, she advised clients on strategic transactions, managed junior bankers, and conducted financial analyses to support debt and equity capital raises. Previously, she worked as an Associate in Sustainable & Thematic Equity Research at Barclays, producing reports on emerging industry trends and engaging with C-level executives. During her undergraduate years, she interned for Congressman Andy Kim’s campaign finance team and worked as a Wealth Management Summer Analyst at Mercer Wealth Management.
Madalyn graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, served on the Dean’s Council on Sustainable Community Programs, and participated in the Women’s Business Society and the Economics Society.
Beyond Law School
Originally from New Jersey, Madalyn maintains strong ties to New York City, where she lived while working at Barclays. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, pilates, cooking, and reading memoirs and nonfiction.
