Background
Tess obtained her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at Brown University, before completing an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in the Department of Neuroscience at Weizmann Institute of Science, performing research in the groups of Prof. Ehud Ahissar and Prof. Ofer Yizhar. During Tess’ doctoral work, she investigated how networks of neurons in the brain process sensorimotor information.
Tess completed her post-doctoral fellowship at HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus. Under Professor Gwyneth Card (now an HHMI Investigator at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute), Tess researched the neural mechanisms behind context-dependent sensorimotor decision making.
Beyond Law School
Tess is from a suburb of Denver, Colorado. She is a former NCAA D1 swimmer, an avid reader, and an amateur pianist. She has completed two half-marathons (2019 & 2021) and two Ragnar Relays (2nd in division, 2017 & 2018).
