Background
Prior to law school, Wera worked in sustainable finance and regulatory advisory roles in New York and Paris, developing a strong foundation in financial markets, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
At S&P Global in New York, she developed environmental risk and impact methodologies for financial institutions, contributed to the quarterly rebalancing of ESG indices, and published research on net-zero commitments, ESG data divergence, and corporate disclosure. Her work focused on forward-looking risk assessment, disclosure practices, and evolving European regulatory standards.
Wera graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Environment & Development, where she specialized in sustainable finance and wrote her thesis on green bond financing. She served as 1st Team Captain of the LSE Rowing Club and was a member of the Germany Society, co-organizing the university’s annual symposium on German affairs.
During her 1L summer, Wera worked on constitutional impact litigation matters as a Legal Clerk at Our Children’s Trust and served as a Research Assistant for the Georgetown Law Journal’s Annual Review of Criminal Procedure. She will join Freshfields in New York as a Summer Associate during her 2L summer.
