Professor Rust-Tierney is a recognized and respected leader with decades of experience advocating for civil rights and human rights. For the last 16 years, she served as Executive Director of theย National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty(This link opens in a new tab). As the 2021-2022 Robert F. Drinan, S.J., Chair in Human Rights, she serves as a resource for students and faculty and teaches โHuman Rights Advocacy: Lessons from the Campaign to End the Death Penalty and Other Human Rights Campaigns.โ
