Clinic Director

Professor Stephanie Glaberson 

Professor Glaberson rejoins the Civil Litigation Clinic as its Director during the 2021-22 school year, after previously serving as its founding Fellow.

Since leaving Georgetown, Professor Glaberson has served as a staff attorney focusing on access to justice issues with Public Justice, a national non-profit public interest law firm. Prior to helping to found the Civil Litigation Clinic in 2017, Professor Glaberson defended low-income New Yorkers against government interference with their right to parent their children, with Brooklyn Defender Services’ Family Defense Practice.

She received her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, her J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law, and her L.L.M. with honors from Georgetown University Law Center. She previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank Maas in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a member of the bars of New York and the District of Columbia, as well as several federal courts.

Graduate Fellow

John Giammatteo

John joins the Civil Litigation Clinic from Lutheran Social Services of New York’s Immigration Legal Program. At LSSNY-ILP, John represented noncitizens in removal proceedings and in federal court, and he launched the Second Circuit Asylum Monitoring Project to track pending asylum appeals at the Circuit. Prior to working at LSSNY-ILP, he clerked for the Honorable Victor A. Bolden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and for the Honorable Gerard E. Lynch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

John is a 2017 graduate of Yale Law School, where he participated in the Veterans Legal Services Clinic and the International Refugee Assistance Project. He received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in 2011, and master’s degrees from City University and SOAS in London, where he was a Marshall Scholar. He is, most assuredly, a dog person.  

Clinic Manager

Niko Perazich

Niko is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Prior to Georgetown Niko worked at various DC-area law firms as a paralegal. Niko is a graduate of Middlebury College and is married with two young children.
