Georgetown Street Law Graduate Teaching Fellowship
Georgetown’s Street Law Program is seeking applicants for its Graduate Teaching Fellowship, which will begin in the summer of 2025 and end in the summer of 2027.
This fellowship combines experiential legal education, interactive teaching methods, program administration, curriculum development, and scholarly research, preparing fellows for careers in teaching, legal practice, or both.
About Street Law
Since 1972, Street Law has provided legal education in D.C. public high schools, correctional facilities, and community settings. The program aims to:
- Support the professional development of Georgetown law students who teach these courses.
- Provide accessible legal education to non-lawyers using interactive methods that build academic, critical thinking, and civic skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise law students teaching practical law courses in D.C. high schools and community placements.
- Co-create course materials with other faculty.
- Develop legal curriculum for law students and non-lawyers.
- Network with government officials and legal professionals.
- Conduct and publish scholarly research on relevant topics.
- Perform instructional and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution by July 2025.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in education, youth issues, trial advocacy, or instructional best practices.
- Prior teaching or supervision experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
- First-Year Salary: $70,000; Second-Year Salary: $75,000.
- Full tuition and fees covered for the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Advocacy, awarded upon fellowship completion.
